MELISSA FIRESTONE

Melissa has practiced yoga since 2007, when she happened upon a yoga studio in Denver during a big transition in her personal life. She kept taking so many classes and wanting to learn more, so in 2016 she decided to become a teacher. She went on to get her advanced (300-hour) teaching certification and completed an additional 150 hours in yoga therapy.

She has played sports her whole life, starting with softball, soccer and basketball. She played soccer in high school and college . . . and still plays! She loves to run; half-marathons are her favorite. She also ran track in high school and played tennis.

Melissa studied psychology in college, which led her to her interest in yoga therapy. She loves teaching because she values learning and “to always be learning something new” is one of her goals.

She also wants to help and serve others. “I hope to show people love when they come to my class.” She loves to see her students challenge themselves while also giving themselves grace. “When they can step into a place of love, I hope they can find room for forgiveness, hope and renewal.”

She loves spending time with her husband, being in nature, walking her dog and watering her flowers, practicing yoga, painting, singing and exploring beautiful New Mexico!
